So what does happen when a black persons electric hot comb breaks? Madness is what. So if you don't know what a flat comb is then here's a picture:
So in short it's just a metal comb that you plug in and it get's really hot and it straightens your hair, like from the roots.
I have been very grateful for this thing
Mine isn't this exact one but it's pretty similar!
Now since I am a clumsy person I drop, spill, and just in general mess up a lot of things so I will be the first one to admit that I've dropped my straightener plenty of times
And this recent drop I guess was too much...it was it's last drop
Now this is what mine looks like:
As you can see the bottom part is no longer connected and it may look like I can just pop it back on but that's not the case unfortunately...SO, this means I cannot straighten my hair properly which is not a good thing. Now yes, I do have other electric straightening items but they aren't a "comb" type they're are just regular flat heads or whatever so I have to use the "back in the day" kind of hot comb that is like super old and hard to use.
Now you must think why not just buy another one? Well, since i know I am a clumsy fool I payed for 2 year insurance when I purchased it. So that's great! They should be able to fix it and everything for F R E E! Yayyy! Except I have to send the broken one to them and then I have to wait for them to send me a new one or a gift card with the money to purchase a new one. This is quite frustrating because I thought insurance would allow me to just go in the store and get a new one just like that but Nooooo why would it be that easy? Nah, my hair is not... um how should i say- nice. So therefore I have to straighten and do my hair EVERYDAY. So I am going to be without it for at least a week or more. I have "nigga naps" so this is going to prove to be difficult.
I guess I'm just going to have to try and master the back in the day hot comb because I am black and I unfortunately cannot let my hair just "be". I'm looking forward to all of the burns and frustration that is to come... )':
